The sofa with its unusual serpentine form frame, buttoned shaped back and scrolling arms and the whole raised on ring turned ebonised front supports with original cups and castors, with affixed Howard & Sons label still left visible after its exceptional restoration to the underside.
English, 1860s. The ebonised legs quite likely in respect to the passing of Queen Victorias Prince Albert.
Reupholstered in the correct Howard & Sons ticking and in exceptional, as new condition.
